Photography is about noticing.
Emotion71 is a collection of moments found rather than constructed — people, places and the brief relationships that appear between them.
I photograph what catches my attention: a gesture, an expression, someone isolated in a crowd, the geometry of a street, or an ordinary scene that suddenly becomes something else.
Much of the work comes from travelling and walking with a camera, but the location isn’t really the subject. London, New York, San Francisco or somewhere much quieter can all produce the same thing — a moment that exists for a second and then disappears.
I don’t set out to manufacture those moments. I prefer to notice them.
Emotion71 is simply where I keep the ones I didn’t want to lose.
